Multi-Entity accounting is aimed at those firms that require to trade as more than one business entity. This may be for tax or regulatory reasons, the need to service differing markets (e.g. onshore and offshore), or as part of general risk management.
Where more than one business entity exists, there will be a corresponding need to create and manage multiple general ledgers and receivables ledgers too. Also possibly separate tax registrations.
However, it is usually the case that the same staff are servicing substantially the same group of clients, but that different engagements (or jobs) have been created linked to differing billing entities. This module manages all of the correct associations of staff, jobs and entities in order to ensure that WIP and bills can be assessed at both the entity level as well as that of the overall firm.
Once created, the structure required for multiple entities can be fully reflected both in performance reporting and also access rights and permissions.
Used in conjunction with the General Ledger Export module, Multi-Entities can also be used to populate multiple GL’s as required.
